Gently rolling or racing

No matter whether relaxed cycling or challenging biking - the Rosental Valley can be explored particularly well on a bicycle! The Drau Cycle Path (R1) is a must for hobby cyclists and families, and the bike tracks through the Karawanken Mountains are a challenge for mountain bikers too.

You ride unhurriedly past keen fishermen and canoeists, through idyllic villages and cool patches of forest. The shimmering, greeny-blue water of the Drau, with the magnificent backdrop of the Karawanken always in view. The regional capital Klagenfurt is easy to reach via the Loibl Cycle Path (R7), leading northwards. Still more breath-taking (in all senses), is a trip up the Loibl Cycle Path (R7) running southwards up to Gorge Tscheppaschlucht.

You’ll find an overview of the many cycling opportunities in our tour guide CARNICA-TOURENGUIDE!
Challenging cycle routesOn the five mountain bike tracks in the Rosental, you can climb 320, 610, 839, 1050 or 1248 metres above sea level. No matter whether on Mt. Rabenberg, into the Bärental valley, over Mt. Radsberg, or whether you’re headed for the Koschutahaus Alpine hut or the Klagenfurter Hütte Alpine hut – you’ll have a chance to test your stamina on all five tracks!
